I loved the above quote, I could apply it to parenting(on my second round of kids), athletic endeavors( how can I navigate the inevitable changes of aging) and coaching( i’ve been chasing improvement since 2005 and in the last year invested both time and money into three very separate areas- bike fitting, exercise physiology and testing, and mental skills and mindfulness)

I’m walking out of 2021 a much better coach than I went into the year, and I’m excited to put more of this into my work with athletes in 2022.

Tempo Kit Order!

I’m looking at improving the kits for 2022 and should have some items to try on in a few weeks if you are local. I’m excited about these developments- stay tuned!

High School Coaches!

Thursday Zwift rides start back up again this Thursday and go until the time change. This week we ride a version of the Granite Bay Rollers workout. Let me know if you want in!

Studies Of Interest

Cyclists- do your strength training! It’s also interesting that they pulled on the RMR differences between runners and cyclists. Its much harder to lose weight purely cycling , and while the kjs are almost always higher with running due to the inefficiency of swinging the arms around, etc, I think its much more related to the RMR or Resting Metabolic Rate of runners.

Bike Fits

A fun note, I just got this Abbey Tools Lever Setter for the studio. Paired with a standard derailleur hanger adjuster, it makes quick work of setting the controls  perfectly equal. It’s my first Abbey Tool and I have a bad feeling its kind of a gateway drug into the boutique bike tool world. I’m already trying to source a Abbey HAG to match.

Kudos And Results

Great job to all the Tempo Strava Club members that participated in the Rapha Festive 500! Michael Koved ( fitting client and all-around smasher on a bike) tops the list with yours truly lagging a bit behind 🙂

On another Challenge note- Kenny Ro had  a strong second in the Piedmont High Holiday Streak challenge, logging all but one day! Nice work Kenny!
