Owen Irving led the pack through the corner a few weeks ago in his first stage race.

I’m recovering from a long weekend at Sea Otter doing race support, some pre rides with athletes, a bunch of expo-ing, and fitting in a bike fit on the way home.

As much as I walked around and chatted with people, I had only a few meaningful conversations, the best one with the Lake shoe rep, where we geeked out on shoes and feet in general for about an hour and a half.

 Four Things I liked-

Bikeflights shipping boxes. Something that can break down to a small flat box in a hotel room is really useful.

The Cannondale Super Six Evo CX. I don’t really need a CX bike these days but I have a soft spot for Cannondale. This thing is a ripper.

Wolf Tooth Axle Handle Tool . Really interesting ideas from these guys. Also, the 8-bit system may be headed to a bike-packing rig shortly.

The Lake 403 shoe features a bathtub molded last ( not molded in a bathtub, I’m pretty sure!) and a custom moldable fit. A 600 dollar shoe better be great and this makes the grade.
